The Morris Men is billed as a 'golf mystery,' and while there is mystery and golf involved, there's not enough of either to make the book a real winner. Still, author Stephen E. Mitchell shows talent in his debut novel, and his premise is sound. In the end, however, the book's most interesting characters -- the Morris Men themselves -- don't get enough attention in a book that often gets lost in the minutia.
