Resort Overview

Penn National is a 36-hole award-winning golf course community rated by Golf Digest magazine's Places To Play 2002-2003. Located near Gettysburg, PA, Penn National is just 90 miles from Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland. Discover why the national authority on retirement communities, Where to Retire Magazine, recently selected Penn National as one of its "Top 100 Master-Planned Communities" in the United States.

If you're looking for a place to live, now is the time to discover what Penn National residents have known for more than 25 years…you don't have to move far from family and friends to find all the amenities you want for an active lifestyle in a four-season climate. What's more is that real estate taxes are low and there's no state tax on retirement income in Pennsylvania, which could annually save you thousands of dollars.

Golf Overview

Penn National features two 18-hole championship golf courses - the Founders Course, and the Iron Forge. Both courses continue to receive accolades from publications like Golf Digest, and Washington Golf Monthly. And just as Penn National offers every modern amenity along with a great sense of history, its two golf courses also offer a choice of traditional or contemporary.

Golf Courses

Founders Course at Penn National

Architect:  Ed Ault
Description:
The Founders Course features a classic blend of tree-lined fairways, large greens, sculpted bunkers and a 7-acre lake. It is a good, old-fashioned traditional test of golf. And as with all well-laid-out traditional courses, Ault has turned up the heat at the end, saving the best and the toughest for the 5-hole stretch starting at the par-5 14th.
