One&Only Palmilla rests on the tip of the Baja Peninsula where the azure ocean greets the mountainous desert terrain. Where Pacific waters merge with the Sea of Cortez and sandy beaches offer unimpeded views of gray whales rising majestically just beyond the crashing surf. This verdant oasis juxtaposed by desert and sea reflects the gracious style of Old Mexico with its red-tiled roofs, whitewashed walls, and idyllic setting of exquisite fountains, swaying palms, bird of paradise and other tropical bloom.

The intimate resort was founded in 1956 by Don Abelardo Rodriguez, son of General Abelardo Rodriguez the interim president of Mexico, and has been a favorite retreat for the likes of Hemingway and Harlow. In February 2004 following an $80 million investment, One&Only Palmilla begins a new era as the quintessential embodiment of elegance.

Accommodations are presented in single-story and three-story buildings, or “casas,” encircling the resort grounds along the peninsula’s edge. Perched above the beach, all rooms and suites offer a patio or balcony facing out toward the sea, allowing optimum privacy and unobstructed scenic views.

From towering cacti and deep arroyos to breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez, the signature Jack Nicklaus course offers challenges and delights. The course (6,900 yards for 18 holes) is divided into the Arroyo Nine, the Mountain Nine and the Ocean Nine. Five sets of staggered tee boxes, stunning fairways, four lakes and deep shifts in elevation ensure golfers of every skill level a memorable and exciting game. Palmilla Golf Club has been rated as one of the top 100 in the world by Great Golf Resorts of the World.

A golf shop located at the course offers an array of merchandise from logo practice balls to golf shirts and accessories. Rental equipment and professional lessons can also be arranged.

The new One&Only Spa at Palmilla celebrates the unique natural setting of Los Cabos and the architectural and artistic heritage of Mexico's culture. Thirteen private treatment villas, accommodating one or two people, provide the perfect indoor/outdoor setting for guests to enjoy their spa regime in complete sanctuary. The spa also features a full-service hair and nail salon, fitness center, outdoor hydrotherapy pool and a yoga garden.

Ancient and modern healing techniques bring body and spirit in harmony with nature at the elegant spa. Guests choose from a comprehensive menu of treatments representing a blend of Mexican, Asian and global accents with many of the therapies based on the ancient beauty, healing and rejuvenation secrets of several cultures. Every detail is an important part of the experience and every sense is indulged, from the rituals that accompany each treatment to the exclusive products using the finest indigenous ingredients, from cactus to flowers.

The Conference Center reflects the gracious style of Mexico with modern amenities. A sheltered patio foyer dressed with hand-carved benches, forged iron lighting fixtures, and large mirrors serves as an ideal location for pre-event gatherings. The Ballroom is designed with richly hued carpeting, hand-painted wall coverings and indigenous artistry on the wooden beams.

The 3000 sq. ft. ballroom can break into 4 separate smaller meeting rooms and accommodate 180 for banquet or buffet. The 3500 sq. ft. foyer accommodates 300 for a cocktail reception.
