Suppose to be sold and closed down in November
Rumor has it that Mossy Creek is SOLD and to be closed in November
Course in bad shape
The course is in really bad shape.
The greens are being worked on but they’re really chopped up- beyond just aeration- huge patches of black soil on the greens- the fairways didn’t seem tended at all. Alternate greens were barely set up and really, really rough.
The only things in good shape were the tee boxes.
Not worth the trip
Greens are unplayable. No fairways all rough. It’s in really terrible condition. A golf course with so much potential just doesn’t have the right people operating it.
The course was in rough shape.
The pro shop staff that checked me in was nice. The course is a good layout but in really bad shape. Greens need to be completely redone and course should be closed until then. It could be a great course.
Terrible
The greens are terrible. Can’t even putt the ball. Fairways are the length of the rough at any course. Would not recommend this course to anyone. Staff is very help full but the course is in terrible shape.
Awful
Greens were in terrible shape. Losing balls in the “fairways”. Poorly upkeep.
What happened!
I have golfed this course before... and it was always a little rough. But, I was shocked when I played today. The fairways were super long. I lost three balls that I hit in the fairways... the grass was jus so long. The greens were indescribable. Simple put: they were dead. The ground was dry and cracking. A lot of work needs to be done here before I will consider coming back.
Greens burnt
Greens were burnt and weeds and where there was grass it was long.
Don't waste your money!
This course is in really bad shape. Fairways look like they haven't been cut in about a month or more, greens are not kept up with dried in mud spots and bare spots all over them, the boxes have not been tended to, and landscape is atrocious. Trees overhanging the fairways in direct shot path from the box to greens. The fairways are like playing out of thick rough all over the course. Cart path on hole 15 has collapsed and there are no warnings or fencing up to keep anyone from going off into a huge hole. Pro shop attendee stated the course is up for sale and has been for about 8 months and it definitely shows. Will not be spending my money here anymore
Okay for casual play.
They try so hard, but with limited budget and being understaffed, the course is in poor shape. Greens are just “bad”. Having said that, with the Golf Now Hot Deal, it’s a bargain round to get together with good friends without breaking the bank. Course is also one of the easiest to get around if you have physical issues.
Greens
Greens are not in the best shape
Fairways are cut uneven
One hole needs to be updated on gps
Mossy Creek
Greens were in bad shape and rough was ridiculous. I guess worth 17 dollars but would not pay regular price.
please mow
The greens were ok, tees were ok for the most part, fairways were the worst I've ever seen. The fairways need to be mowed, a lot, then mowed again, and again. Mow the rough too. We were having trouble finding our golf balls in the middle of the fairway. We even lost a couple balls in the middle of the fairway. No defined fairway, basically it was all rough from tee to green, and some areas of fairway it was heavy rough. Lack of maintenance should mean lower rates. Could be a fun course otherwise.
Course for sale
Course for sale so only front nine was mowed. All greens are too slow even to play. Back nine had no fairways to speak of with humps called greens to slow to use a putter. This courses is lost due to sale. Bet it was a good course years ago
Mossy Creek - good value
Fairways and greens are coming into shape, tough course from the whites and blues. Fair test from the senior tees if you are over 70
Course is better than last time, greens are coming around and fairways are better moved. It a good course for the price - I will play it some more until I get my game back in shape. Its a great place to work on your game
Nice course
Had a excellent experience playing with my brother and his friends
terrible
The Staff is wonderful but the course needs to go back to feeding cows. More weeds than grass. Greens are terrible.
Great course for all types
This course is great. A few challenging holes but great for the straight shooter. The fairways and greens could use a little touch up work but, besides that it’s a fantastic course.
