Lost balls in fairway
Course is in bad shape. Fairways are full of clover . The greens are so fast that the ball will roll off the green on an approach shot or putt.
Local course , great value
My buddies and I try to play Mossy Creek at least once a week . It’s a great place to gather together and swat that little ball up and down the course. Thanks to Robby and his staff for such a great place to play .
Nice Couirse
I have been wanting to play this course for some time and finally got around to it. It is not real close to my home, but it was worth the drive. The only negatives I can say is there were more weeds than usual in the fairways. Also, there is no range.
On the plus, the greens were nice and I enjoyed the layout.
Great course for the money
If you need to practice this is the place to go. Had a great time with my grandson and wife.A good place to work on your game. Previous golfers have problems fixing there divots or just to lazy to fix, but that's at a lot of places also.
PEOPLE FIX YOUR DIVIOTS
Nice course, nicer staff and members
When we arrived, there was a lot of cars in the parking lot and we thought it would be slow. We found out it was the men's league gathering and they pointed us to the fist tee and asked us to go ahead, There were a couple of places where it was confusing to figure out where to go next but the members and staff were kind enough to point out. Has a nice combination of tough and easy holes so one does not get discouraged. Not a lot of steep up and down but lets you know you are playing in the mountains. Nice course to play!
Mossy Creek
Very friendly staff. Greens in better than average shape. Some tricky par three's. Fairways ok, rough is deep, good chance you'll loose a ball if it is out of fairway. Not scary thick, just taller grasses. Great pace of play, scenic.
Don't waste your time or money
I would not recommend this course to anyone who is even the slightest bit serious about golf. To begin with, the course layout is very poor. The holes are right on top of each other and anything other than a perfectly straight shot will be on a different hole. The fairways are nothing more than cut pastures with clippings left everywhere. The greens are very inconsistent, with some being way too fast and others being way too slow. Overall, even for the low rate offered through Golf Now, it is not worth the time or money. Look elsewhere.
Great for the casual golfer
Mossy Creek doesn't provide plush fairways or tee boxes by any standard, but it is a respectable course to play at for the price. The greens were in excellent condition when I played. They are in the process of finishing up some work on a couple of the back 9 holes that is improving the looks of the course. The par 3's are long and play long. The par 5s are short and play short. Great place to get a group of friends together and relax and have a good time. There are MUCH better courses and there are MUCH worse courses around for the price!
Under Maintenance
I knew that the course was under advisory when I booked. I did not realize the severity of the advisory. They were also spraying the fairways on Sunday. In the few times I have played it over 2 years I have never seen it in great shape. But I believe they are still working on it.
Slow Play and no grass
T-time purchased was for 10:10 but we were unable to tee of due to the two 5 person groups in front of us meandering around. This played out during the entire round of slow play. The greens were the best thing about the whole course, no grass in the fairways and the tee boxes also lacked grass.
Good practice course
Have been playing this course for over 12 plus years. Good course in the N. Georgia mountains to hone your game, and get some practice. The first four holes are the challenge, and you have to be an accurate driver off the tee and place your second shots wisely on the 3 par 4's. The par 3 in the mix is an uphill shot, and take an extra club or two. Number 9 needs a left to right shot, or go high and long otherwise you get caught in the tree to the right. On the back nine 15, 17 and 18 need accurate tee shots. There is no driving range, so come warmed up.
Harder than you think
I found this course to be much more difficult than the slope indicates. I had difficulty playing from the white tees to get on he green in regulation. Also the greens were sloped and fast. The course had many elevated greens
