Despite being relatively young (opened in September 1999), Shanghai West Golf Club excels other 14 courses in the Greater Shanghai Area in gaining the fame as the most exclusive golf club in the region. The Club was admitted to the prestigious 'The Finest Golf Clubs of The World' in March 2001 in recognition of its commitment to excellence in golf. The putting greens are considered the best maintained ones amongst golf courses in Eastern China. The Club's international membership roster is comprised of business leaders and Consul Generals from more than 20 countries stationed in Shanghai.
