Blah
I know many people live this course, but I just can’t get on board. There are some beautiful holes and some amazing views, but there are too many holes that just aren’t very good. Three par 5s where you are hitting something like a mid iron from the tee, followed by another and another. A few holes where the landing zones are fairly ridiculous. And the layout on the back - holes 15, 16 and 17 in a particular is nuts. These holes are all next to one another up and down a hill - up 15, down 16, up 17 - and each is very narrow. There were literally 10 carts on the holes with people hitting shots all over the place. Absolutely crazy. And the pace of play was bad accordingly - 5:15. I’m not expecting super fast on a Sat afternoon, but it was pretty awful. I think if you put the time in to understand the lines and landing zones you could enjoy the course, but seems like it would take at least 4 or 5 rounds. Sorry to be a downer - just not a fan. I have a 3 handicap and like a challenging course, but I think there is better value elsewhere. On the upside, clubhouse was nice, people were all great, course was in good condition overall, and some amazing views.

Queens Golfer
One of my favorite courses, every hole a little different layout, fair even if u are long or short hitter, have to think ur way around the course, pays to be a straight hitter here as u may lose some balls! Drove up front queens to play this course but worth the drive! Is too expensive for me in the summer but this time of yr is a good price!

5+ hour round and no help from rangers
Great views, pleasant staff, nice ambiance. But this is overshadowed by players who take 15 min to putt and tee off. Can’t say I would be back. No rangers. Free for all slow play. Ruined my play.and enjoyment of what could have been a wonderful afternoon. Sometimes difficult walking in restricted areas. And I’m a pretty fit golfer.

Great conditions - always fun playing here
This is a challenging, but well maintained course where you can truly enjoy playing golf ! The team is very helpful and friendly. During regular season it is a bit an expensive public course, so enjoy the off-peak and post season pricing now !
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Hudson Hills Golf Course.
Bring your balls. Kiss em goodbye.!!!!
The course is actually a lot of fun.
The roughs are but like they’re playing the us open everyday.
Also the course very often is CPO a lot.
It’s extremely hilly so walking is just flat out dumb.
The roughs and fairways will want you to write a review just like this.
Hudson Hills is known for mega lost ball death. , I mean like , a lot of people Lose dozens while average is probably 2-6 on a low handicap. I’m fairness I have played there 2 times while I lost no balls and shot upper 70’s and a low 80
Otherwise kiss em goodbye. ! They’re gone forever.

Tough Course But No Driving Range to warm up
Hudson Hills is a tough narrow and funky kind of course. The front 9 are narrow tee shots with some blind tee shots. The 2nd hole tee shot is just ridiculous hitting blind along the side of a hill to the right and OB on the left to a fairway you cannot see that is VERY SMALL.
Number 8 is also a narrow tee shot to a slight dog leg green with little room for error.
The back 9 opens up a bit. Number 10, par 5, has a bailout fairway leaving an elevated 2nd shot to another fairway with a hazard ahead making a layup the prudent play. But if you can hit a big tee shot with the driver and a little fade, you can bypass the bailout area and have a chance to get on the green in 2.
Many holes have no forgiveness around the greens so accuracy with irons is a must as with tee shots.
The bar/restaurant is nice though.
There is NO DRIVING RANGE. This place really needs one. Only a net to hit into and a very sloped practice green.

Interesting challenging unique gem
Has a private country club feel in many aspects. They don’t call it Hudson HILLS for nothin’. Choose a forward tee box for the fairest and most enjoyable experience.
Tha hills and lush fairways make for challenging distances on several par 4s and par 5s. The par threes can be played from further back as they tend to be short.
Don’t be turned off by the challenge. Probably need to play it a second time to get more comfortable with this creative gem.
Thank you for your review, Jasonmark. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Hudson Hills Golf Course. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Great course but today was absolutely awful
I’ve played here a few times and decided to bring my wife for the first time. We had a twosome at 135pm with open times behind us and only a 3 ahead of us. I thought this was perfect. It was $100pp which is to be expected on a Sunday in NY but I’ve played here before and thought it was worth it. Staff was great as always, never any issue whatsoever. But. My god today was the slowest round ever. I was swinging once every 8 minutes. I felt like I was playing a queens municipal course.
For the first time since I started playing golf we left after 14 holes. At this point we were already 4hrs into the round and there were 3 groups waiting on the 15 tee. No rangers, no one at the clubhouse to even ask why we left early as we drove through a group on the 18th tee.
So we spent $210 for 14 holes of aggravating irregular golf. HH if you are going to charge $100+ per round pace should not be this bad. I wasted my money today
Now, I know this may not justify a review (I never place reviews, I usually just ignored the email) but today I felt ripped off.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Crazy Hilly
Where were the RED tees?
Very hilly to even walk to the gold tees.
Not recommended for folks who don't like uphill or down hill lies.
Balls flying from other holes during the whole round!
Not too interested in returning.
