Mattawang Golf Club
About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Great conditions
Fairways and greens were in great condition. five of the par 4's were over 400 yards, great challenge
Always at Great Time
Mattawang is one of my favorite courses to play. The course was in great shape and the staff is always first class. It’s a pleasure to play there!!
Nice day
Course in great shape and peaceful setting.
Worth a trip.
Soggy play
Came to the course and was told no carts . I paid for 3 some with carts. Was told that I was notified about the change in carts. I did not get any notifications and I was to get adjustment on price. Still not happing.
The course was fine and pace was about the same due to all walking players.
Should have cancelled the Day
If the rainy weather did not permit the course to be played then all reservations should have been cancelled .. we were properly noticed that the course was walking only due to the wet conditions but there where no push carts available and pace of play and course in not walkable shape .. we all should have been called to cancel the day and be refunded due to conditions
Great condition
Even with all the rain we had, the course was in great condition. Greens were mowed, fairways were mowed and you couldn't ask for much more in when it gets that wet. The staff here is primo!!!
Upping its Game
It had been some years since I played here for first pandemic and then cost reasons. Playing after considerable rain meant the course played longer and fat iron shots were punished even more than usual, but we had a very nice round. My overall impression was that money had been invested in the course since last I played, and despite the soggy conditions, it played well. Perhaps one of the more telling examples of improved upkeep was the bunkers. While some were water hazards (no fault of ownership), the bunkers were well defined and well filled. It was worth the two hours in total travel time to play Mattawang.
Excellent
Excellent conditions and pace of play. Highly recommend.
Great Bang for the Buck
Course has really bad reviews for some reason but I figured would try it out. I can say for the price it was a good deal. Besides a couple of bare spots on some greens which were actively being worked on I cant complain. Layout was good, conditions were good and the staff was great. Pace of play was 3.5 hours and we were dropping extra balls on some holes. Also has a driving range over water which is unique. Wish they had food options.
Gem
I wish I had bad things to say, but I don't. So if y'all play here and take my tee times, imma be mad at meself!! Love it, always a good time.
Nice option
Haven't played this course in about 12 years.
Driving range is a big bonus. Course and greens were in decent shape. Nice wide open course. It was the weekend so not uncommon to have a ball from another hole land on your fairway. Pace if play was about 4.5 hours. Which is a typical weekend pace.
Rained Out!
Before our round, the weather stated clear skies all day which was great. We started our round… and of course the rain started on about the 8th hole. We stuck through it and at about the 10th hole it was too much, the rain was coming down heavy.
I then called the pro shop to see if they could provide a rain voucher for a different date/time considering our round basically got canceled. They denied and stated “once you start you’re in it for the long hall”.
Would not recommend.
Love the course and layout. Fungus on greens and terrible pace of play
Many greens had a fungus and a few even were roped off in sections. Same for some fairways.
Pace of play was terrible for a 740am tee time. Starter did talk to the slow group twice but nothing changed.
