Wolf Creek Golf Club
About
For golfers who want real desert, making the 80-minute drive from Sin City's high-tech neon to Mesquite's low-tech neon is a road to travel.
For in Mesquite, there's not just old ladies at old-time slots. There's Wolf Creek Golf Club, an exceeding tough golf course where you might just run into a real-life road runner. This course features true desert canyons and all the wildlife that scampers across them.
The second tee box is 11 stories up. That's right, 11 stories up. Fantastic vision was encouraged at this Arnold Palmer design with helicopters being used to cart some of the rocks around and build higher holes. The bunkers are filled with crushed granite, providing another unique playing experience.
Wolf Creek was built to put Mesquite golf on the map. It succeeded.

Good course-but no rakes for bunkers?
I hadn't played here in years. One of the most over -hyped courses around but my 2 sons wanted to play here.Course was better than I remember but I have issues with no rakes for the traps(not waste areas)-regular traps. So now you cannot play the ball down as the game was meant to be played-I'm assuming just laziness on the course at this point .--another thing that bothered me was having golf attendant clean your clubs as you approach and putt out on the green-Tacky
Course was solid but certainly not a championship course.
This course has great view of mountain valleys
1st time play here after seeing many positive reviews and its breath breaking view on every hole elevate tee at top of mountain, not oversee valley but also other holes surrounding. What a great view. Enjoyed playing here. Will bring friends back to enjoy again.
Beautiful and challenging
Flew in to Mesquite airport and Wolf Creek brought us golf carts to the plane which was amazingly convenient. Had a small delay due to frost so we grabbed food at their restaurant. Good was simple but good but the vibe was plain. Course looked pretty good with a few bare spots on the fairways and some greens.
Good and Bad
Wolf Creek is a challenging and unique track that winds through canyons and mesas of the Muddy Creek Formation, and requires lots of precision shots and creativity to make it a manageable play. Wayward shots can be penalized severely. On this day, pace of play was slow, and the round took about 5 1/2 hours. Some of the greens were a little beat up and didn't look like they filled in as good as they could of from September over seeding, with some bare spots and rough patches. The practice range was a little beat up and bare as well, and only part of it was open on this day. However, fairways and tee boxes overall were in good condition. All in all, a decent value and memorable golf experience worth a play.
Just do it!
Amazing course to play as a intermediate golfer! Friendly atmosphere and very professional. Didn’t get to completely focus the last two holes due to later start and frost delay but still overly impressed by the challenges each hole presents.
Thought it was high priced when I booked but I’d do it again but start in the morning to be able to complete the round. Will be back next year!
Creator of course had a TRULY DIVINE VISION!
Canadian father son golf trip
Great course, wonderful views, greens need attention and pace to slow
Just like Tiger Woods golf 10'
I have played this course hundreds of times on PS2 and had very high expectations coming into the course. To say my expectations were met and exceed is an understatement. The course was beautiful and I found myself looking in all directions from the elevated tees (this probably decreased the pace of play, but I was living out a dream).
The course was in great condition and for a native Iowan the course felt like I was on Mars. The overall experience was a 98/100, two points knocked for a slow bar tender and rude starter.
This course is very difficult and there is no shame playing more forward tees. There are very scorable holes and holes that will do a number on you.
I will be making a trip back for this course specifically.
Video Game Golf
Wolf Creek is a golf course that many of us have seen growing up playing video games. This was always the course that kicked my butt on Tiger Woods Golf. So it was fun to finally see it in person.
Wolf Creek is not for the faint of heart. You need to pick the right set of tees, and have the right attitude. You're going to lose some golf balls but you're also going to hit some hero shots. The course asks you to pick a line and a Target and hit the shot, and if you do you'll be rewarded. If you don't hit the shot, you're probably in the desert and taking a penalty shot.
Our group had an absolute blast! We all knew what we were in for and so we just embraced it and I think everyone had one to two highlight shots. They were birdies to be made as well as eagles but also doubles and worse.
The conditions of Wolf Creek were the best that we saw in the Mesquite / St George area. The overseed was really successful and the course was playing very nicely. The greens were rolling true and fast.
Wolf Creek is not a course I would play everyday but it is a course that everyone should experience at least once. And if I'm ever back in the Mesquite area, I will definitely play it again!
Bucket list mastered
Great course
This course is like playing some kind of crazy video game. Unbelievable holes from cliffs to canyons. Pictures don’t do it . A must play.
Nice course and views
You need to be very accurate with your shots or bring many extra balls. Great views from tee boxes but too many have stairs to walk up to. After a long day in the heat, it's really exhausting. Fun course but challenging.
not for the faint of heart
The elevation changes from tee to green are insane! Course was in fabulous condition even with having the greens aerated only 4 days prior to playing.
Dinner in the dining room was delicious - on par with other fine dining in the area.
