Booking Issues
Golf was fun. Great course conditions. Heritage seems to have some issues with their booking system. My group showed up on time only for the starter to tell us he has no record of our tee time. Had to wait 30 minutes until he could squeeze us in between groups.
Heritage
Fun but the height of grass in rough was punitive for a municiple family type corse . My wife who is a fairly new player was very discouraged. I also felt it was excessive and detracted from what is a very nice course.
Typical municipal run course
Tee boxes sometimes thin on grass and fairways with permanent no carts painted on the asphalt. Hadn't rained in the previous 24 hours but some of the noisy drying fans were going (maybe from overnight watering?). Staff clearly communicated desire to prefer singles and twosomes even though it was a weekend. Long and challenging in spots, would recommend but there are many better maintained courses in the metro area for the cost. First course I've played with dual holes on multiple greens. Signage on country access road sits 70 yards off the roadway making it difficult to identify considering the other facilities (junior football, baseball, soccer fields) draw high traffic into the area and are clearly marked within feet of the entries.
Good course but slow
Played on a holiday but course not busy, played as twosome and got stuck behind slow foursome that never asked if we wanted to play thru though we waited on about every shot. The Marshall even came by and said he would help but didn't. Overall this course is a nice challenge but playing a four and a half hour round with 15 cars in the parking lot is a drag and takes all the fun out it,
Eh
Place isn't ran well. Allowing 5-somes, requiring skipping holes if you don't want a 6 hour round. Showed up ready to play 15 minutes before tee time, and I booked myself only, and was told it'd be an issue. REALLY!? That kind of stuff just frustrates me. But the course was in good shape and would play again.
Excellent Public Course
Course was in excellent condition except greens were slow. Pace of play was steady with no waiting to hit shots. This is a good layout and a good challenge from the Blue tees.
Nice course
Course is in great shape. Long and demanding. If you're not in the fairways you pay the price. Greens are in great shape. Definitely play there if you get a chance. Great rates on golf now.
A fun course for all skill levels
I got a good deal on this course; $10-15 cheaper than full price. I checked in, and bought some range balls ($6 for 40 balls). The staff were kind and professional. The driving range is in good shape, with markers in 50 yd gaps from 100 to 250 yards.
The course itself is in good shape, with generous fairways and not a whole lot of trouble.
It's a course that you will want a cart. The holes are in groups of 3-5 and then there is a distance from green to tee. The one complaint I have is the quality of the cart path. There are some stretches in desperate need of repaving.
All in all, I enjoyed my round and would absolutely play again!
Great course
This course is close home and a great value for the price. I consider this my home course. As a 12 handicap it provides a good challenge without being so hard that I can't make a few birdies. Hats off to the staff for keeping the course in great playing condition.
good course to practice
It was a hot and windy summer day. Everything was great except there are some tee boxes without good layer of grass. Wind was a factor in some holes. Other than those, it was great to play there.
Fun course
Fun course to play. Offers a good challenge. Has some nice hilly fairways, a few 550+ yard par 5s. One that's 600+ if you play the blue. Some challenging par 3s which you must carry over water.
Marshall rude
Marshall told us (two singles) that we had to double up on a cart...when I asked why , he started screaming at me. Very old, grumpy man. Plus, I paid for a cart...I will never go back!
Slow Course - Unfruendly Staff
Despite having 8 or 9 marshals on the course the pace of play was abysmal. They were spread out sitting in a shady spot all day. The staff was extremely unfriendly. They made us wait to tee off so they could start a tournament despite our tee time being 20minutes before it (we play very fast). Then on the #1 tee box the marshal is yelling at me to hit despite the group in front of us being well within our range. I went ahead and hit, the marshal griping in my back swing, and ended up bouncing one past the group in front of us. I asked to marshal to explain to the group ahead that he had instructed me to hit and his response was "I didn't tell you to hit into them", oh so I should have teed off with a 9 iron? Poorly trained staff, clearly just there for the free golf, wouldn't pay $40 to golf there again.
Heritage park review
Great course in good shape. Great value especially for seniors. One terrible negative is the course was extremely crowded because of Good Friday and excellent weather. As pace of play settled there was one foursome that was oblivious to the fact that they had 2 holes open in front of them. Literally 10 people around us quit between 9 and 14th holes because of their pace of play.
lower price a bit
I like the course its close to my house but its a muni course priced like the nicer courses in the area....need to lower prices a bit & would be good deal
Ok
Greens are a litte thin and rough.
Fairways will be nice when the zosia starts to grow
Came2play
Considering it was DEC 17 in KC. I had a great day of golf. Thanks for keeping the course up.
