Diamond Valley Golf Club is an easy drive into Hemet Valley from a number of locations including San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles. Though it's easily accessible, the course is tucked away in the San Jacinto Mountains, offering a feel of peaceful seclusion. The layout encompasses a variety of terrain, from scenic waterscapes to lush, rolling hills covered with native plants and grasses. With dramatic elevation changes from tee to green, this course isn't walker friendly, which can easily be overlooked if you're looking for a truly formidable test. The sloping nature of the landscape lends a different character to each hole and the elevated tees provide panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. One of Diamond Valley Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th. It's as scenic as it is challenging, requiring a short iron to wedge shot over a cascading waterfall.

Great course needs work

This is a great course but the conditions have slipped. The greens are still good but the fairways are in rough shape. Hope they can get this back to past excellence.

diamond valley ....BAD!!

They have really cut back on the watering, They have temporary watering sprinklers set up on the tee boxes, but still you can't put a plastic tee in the ground, and need a hammer and nail to get a tee in the ground. Most of the wild life has left the area. I paid $17 on a hot deal, and IF I ever play here again they will have to pay me!!

Go to Seven Hills

This course is terrible! Fairways are dead, greens and sand traps have hard services and need watered. Driving range is not taken care of and completely dead with no flags to aim towards. Not one ball cleaner had water in it. Golf carts GPS system is a joke. Clubhouse is old and run down. GPS just shows a picture of the hole, no distance or information provided. Go to Seven Hills, it's usually $5 more and well worth it.

Really dry

The fairways are extremely dry. The greens are in good condition but they are apparently not mowing them because they don't want them to dry out. It's a shame, cause it's a nice track when it is in good condition, like during winter. Carts are nice and new and pace of play was great since there was barely anyone else on the course

Golf Carts makes playing stressful

I have played this course many times before and was satisfied. However, they have new golf carts that will totally stress you and your game out. The carts will only allow you to drive on the car path and on the fairways. So any other place you have to get out and walk to your ball and walk back to your cart. All other places with these carts that I have played at only prevents you from getting too close to the greens. I am 66 years old and all that walking up and down hills only made me play with a bad off attitude. There were wide open areas and downhill areas that were perfectly appropriate for the cart but not allowed. I have been playing golf for many years and this is the first time I have felt so physically destroyed after a round. Never again.
They need to reconsider the way they have programmed the carts and make them more user friendly. This maybe a reason why the course was so empty on a Saturday at $25. I really liked this course without those carts

Thank you for the feedback. If you have the problem of walking up and down, you may talk to the staff and they will be glad to set up the handicap setting for the cart.

Good Time and Value

We arrived about and hour early prepared to kill some time waiting for our tee time. Lucky us, the gentleman that checked us in allowed us to go ahead and start on number 10. He was able do this since they didn't have a full slate of tee time reservations for when we would be making the turn.
We were a twosome and ended up playing a leisurely three hour round.
Areas are beginning to get very dried out and stressed but the course is still very playable.
Overall it was a great weekday morning round of golf.

Super Dry. Don't know why this place has been let Go.

This course used to be great looking and playing. A true hidden gem. Now it has gone bad staff is still nice n course is a good layout but the condition of the whole course is yellow. I know times must be hard there. It's actually sad because I used to love this Course.

Unfortunately, I should have listen to the reviews....

The course is in horrible shape. Brown fairways and dried up areas. Tee boxes were suffcient. Greens weren't too bad considering how bad the course looked. The layout is not bad and was probably a great looking course in its hey day. But it looks abandoned. I shot a 77, so it's not because I played bad. It's because I drove over an hour to play one of the worst kept courses I can remember playing. The cart was annoying and the restrictions are a little too sensitive even when you're on the cart path. I paid $14 through Golfnow and I wouldn't recommend driving that far to play for even $8. Sorry, I really tried to enjoy the course and the environment. But it's horrible. Staff seemed friendly enough. But I gave the bad rating because the golf course is a wreck.

They let this place go

This is what happens when overseas investors buy a place and let it go. They might as well just put greens in the sahara desert. Clearly the ownership does not plan on spending any money to keep a semblance of grass alive on the fairways. Super sad because this course was in peak condition just 3 months ago.

Dried Out/Cart Issues

Very dry conditions. Not a lot of watering at this course during the summer months. New carts with GPS still hampering being able to enjoy the round of golf as the parameters set on the carts keep slowing them down in areas/paths that they shouldn't. Inexpensive to play but that doesn't make up for the dried out course and the poor set-up of the carts.

Needs to be watered..

Course would be fun to play, but they need to water the fairways. The fairways are brown, dry and a little thin. That being said the course is a fun layout where tee shots need to be accurate. Driver is not the only club of choice off the tee here. Fairway woods and hybrids are needed to properly place your tee shots on some of the shorter par 4's. Staff was friendly and due to the extreme heat (105 at tee time) the course was relatively empty. I would like to come back and play it again, but not until they start watering and getting the course green again.

Wonderful customer service

Besides playing the worst round of my life I would definitely have to say that I will go back to this course. Everything was enjoyable about it but my playing abilities.

What's not to like

Playing 18 holes in 3 hours is becoming a unique experience. Granted it is "off season" for gold in the warmer interior climes of southern California the previous time I played this course the pace of play was quick as well. Carts are equipped with GPS to help guide you around the layout and show you the holes as there are many blind tee boxes and landing locations. These do not give you distance to the pin but what serious golfer doesn't have that already? Greens show summer effects but run true. Clubhouse is minimal but offers the necessities. Check it out, I will when back in this area again (and again).

Remote but well worth the drive

Drove from San Diego to play as was great deal on GolfNow ....first impressions it looked a little dry & unkempt It was not at all. Excellent golf course in every aspect, superb greens, very challenging holes & great layout. Quiet secluded & peaceful. Good practice facilities also. Highly recommend & will be back, especially for the price. Its a pretty remote location but well worth an hour + drive when you get there

There Staff was horrible. Well the old lady only.

This older lady with white hair was working there for the first time I've seen her and showed me and my partner no love what's so ever and made us pay an extra 15$ after we already paid our fees online. I mean lady was from a swamp down under. Me and the guys are never going back again just cause of her. And the course is in horrible shape and bees are swarming the course so bad it's madness.

Getting a little ragged

I have always liked Diamond Valley. I've called it a hidden gem in the past. It has an interesting variety and a peaceful location. That being said, it's getting a little rough around the edges. I had not played here for about a year. Water is expensive. I get it conditions are getting marginal. To be fair, it's OK but not what it used to be in terms of conditions.

disturbed

WE had a 1:51 tee time. we arrive at 1:10pm. we were not able to get our cart until ten minutes before our tee time. we had to walk 100 yards to the driving range and back. we had to be firm with the only person running the golf course and tell her she was sending a fivesome in front of our twosome. we did not tee off until 1400 hours. we followed the fivesome until the 11th hole. a 3 1/2 hour round took 4 1/2 hours.
