Arizona Biltmore Golf Club - Estates Course
About
Some consider the Estates course (formerly known as Adobe golf course) at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club to be grand and stately, a prime example of golf course design in the pre-modern era, combining rare beauty with solid trickery. It makes for a round both relaxing and challenging played on lush 50-year-old fairways, with a spacious layout, reminding on of golf as it ought to be played: the glory days when graphite went into pencils and balls were only white.
The Adobe golf course at the Arizona Golf Club measures 6,430 yards from the white tees and comes in at par-71.
Due to the mild Arizona winters, the Adobe Golf Course at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is open year-round.

This course has potential
The first problem was finding the Club House. The road had very little signs and there was construction that made it difficult to find. The staff were friendly and they valet parked my vehicle. That a nice. The course is not well defined. It is hard to see the greens as the holes are so close. People in our group hit to the wrong green on several occasions. You also must be aware of balls coming from different fairways. The pace was very slow and I joined a group ahead of me to try and pick it up. We still waited every hole. The beverage cart did not help as it stopped in the middle of fairways to serve people instead of by tees. The course looked like it had been recently sodded and some greens were already burnt. I did not find the layout to be interesting. It was mainly flat and open. This course is fine for a beginner, but not at the price. I hav played many munis that are nicer.
Shoehorned into the space
I think they didnt really have enough room for the course. Probably worked well with the older balls and clubs, but it’s very tightly packed into the space. The good news is that means that if your wild, your ball will likely end up on another fairway. Since the recently planted trees havent grown in yet, you will probably have a shot from the other fairway.
Green were in mixed shape. Some were good and a few were not. In particular, the day we played, the flag on #2 was surrounded by bare areas that came within about 10 feet of the cup. There was a lot of much better green available in other locations, but they chose to cut the cup in one of the worst areas.
Pace of play was ok, but not great. No restaurant due to construction. I didn’t sample the halfway house.
Congested course
The layout is pretty tight. I felt like I should wear a hard hat. Course is very playable but not super interesting. Very fun to see all the estate houses around the course.
Not worth it.
The course is not well laid out. The holes are much too close together. You can see three or four other holes when you play. I took us 5+ hours to play and we waited on every shot. Greens were hard as rock and almost impossible to hold a shot. Our GPS didn’t work. They gave us another cart and the gps didn’t work on the new cart either. Many other course better than this one for the price.
The greens had big spots of burn out or something else but it made that part unplayable. Wear a helmet because balls fly at you from every direction while on the green, fairway or tee box. The whole course was not good, they said renovation but for that price go play somewhere. very disappointed. Will never play here again, layout cannot change so you will always have fairways right next to each other. Lastly, resort course, they had two somes all over the course.
Dismal
I guess with the Iowa caucus just ending we are expected to believe everything we are told.
So, this is what I will tell you and you can say it's "fake news"
I've played 'Adobe' a couple dozen times. The 'Estate' course is 'Adobe" with the exception of a couple hundred yards.
Biggest difference is it's in very rough shape, coupled with indifferent grounds crews saturating the tract.
Oh yeah... third world technology GPS that won't show you the hole layout but it will stop your cart if you pull off the path.
Arizona Biltmore has a long and respectable reputation. I am embarrassed by their misrepresentation of the 'improvements' over the 'Abode' course.
Take my review for what it's worth but you will never see me at a MAGA rally.
Poor experience.
Very poor condition - especially for the green fees. Terrific staff but there are MUCH better alternatives.
Tom should be embarrassed
Horrible conditions and an awful layout. Definitely not worth the listed green fees nor the discounted fees available via GolfNow/Teeoff
A great course
We played the estates course which is in a tight area. That actually made it nice because there was not a lot of desert or brush to lose balls in. Staff is amazing.
Bizarre Layout!
Maybe the worst course layout I’ve ever played! Parallel holes too close together and even dangerous by some standards. Cross-crossing holes after the green very hard to determine which way to go. For a newly built course, it was in pretty bad condition, but wven though the greens had a lot of rough patches, they rolled well, albeit, too slow for my taste. Staff was very friendly and even the Marshall was understanding and helpful. They just need to change the hole layout and put some more money toward the grounds crew and course care. Then I may come back.
Green grass and lots of water
Loved the course. Plush green grass. Beautiful water holes. Very friendly staff. Would definitely do it again.
Not ready for prime time
The Estates course could be good someday just not now
Course needs to grow in and mature
Greens had problems and were very slow
Surprising to see standing water in many places
Not that exciting
I played the estates course for the first time this week. I found it to be just OK, not very exciting.
No real elevation changes the greens were not so great, the sand was very good!
Next time I’ll play the other course. I’m excited about the construction they’re doing on the new clubhouse. That will be pretty awesome.
I thought the same thing, Tom Lehman should be embarrased. I decided to chalk it up to not enough space, but i agree with your review.
