Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club
About
Located in Drumheller, Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of the Badlands. The course's wooded terrain provides a striking contrast to the surrounding desert-like landscape. Jagged hills sprinkled with ancient boulders and cacti provide a setting that is truly unique. The site is home to dinosaur bone beds that date back 75 million years, which is where the club gets its name. The golf course was carefully constructed around these beds and the 11th hole was even reconfigured so as not to disturb the possible dinosaur skeletons embedded in the hillside. The layout has a player-friendly front nine, which you'll want to take advantage of because the back nine is much more challenging. Dinosaur Trail's final nine holes are even known for being one of the area's toughest closing nines.

Golf was great, bathrooms need cleaning desperately, the range balls full of Mud.
Unique course. A must play
Good course for any golfer. Front nine is a relatively easy play. Back nine is more like target golf. Stunning views on back nine. Great course overall.
Great mix of hole challenges
Front 9 plays well and fairly open but when moving up to back 9 must be ready for tougher and narrow fairways with blind shots and layups necessary. Easy to lose a few balls.
Needs maintenance
Maintenance is not up to par. 36C temperatures and no refreshment cart. I won their open in 1992 when it was only 9 holes. Back nine has a challenging layout but there is still winter kill in late Aug. I was disappointed.
Not good.
The old nine maintenance has gone down. Back nine has a good design but lacks money or energy for maintenance. Example is winter kill still on the green in late August. Really hot day (35c) and no refreshment cart. I was even hoping to see a trophy case since I won their open in 1992. None to be seen. I probably will not go back since it’s over an hour drive.
Bogey ++
Front nine is fairly easy : Back nine very Challenging
Views and sceneries on the back nine were awesome
Make sure you have enough golf balls to finish your round. Fooooore
Good course !
The course is nice I got 18 holes with a cart for $38 at 7:09am. Can’t beat that deal !
Back 9 is very challenging
8/10 would play again
Tee boxes
Price was very good value. Pro shop staff very accommodating. Restaurant staff very good.
Greens were in good shape. Fairways were trimmed and easy to hit off of but lots of yellow patches due to not enough watering or maybe lack of fertilizer.
Tee boxes were in terrible shape. Not getting watered, grass dead or dying and ground so hard in places you couldn’t stick a tee in.
Rental carts didn’t appear to be cleaned up or washed off.
Course seemed dry overall
Two thumbs up
Went in the off season. Wide open and the course was in excellent condition. Will definitely come back
Terrific experience
The whole course was a blast to play and a beautiful site to see, but specifically the back 9 while being very challenging brought some of the most fun I’ve had golfing!
Easy front, challenging back
Front 9 is just back and forth with straight holes. Back 9 has some forced carries and blind shots. Greens were smooth and played well. I played the course twice on consecutive days and never saw a marshall.
If I’m in town again, I’d definitely play it again.
TAD
Truly enjoyed playing this course. Front nine traditional golf (narrow and well treed. Back nine really awesome, plays like a true link course in a very rugged territory. Not to be missed.
Great course amazing back 9
While this was not the first time I played the course, I usually just forget the front 9 and can't wait to start the back. This time I really took the time to appreciate the front and while definitely not as majestic as the back it did take me by surprise how good the front actually is.......with that being said if you haven't played here before just speed through the front and get to the back.
