For those golfers not quite ready for the pro tour, Golf Daytona Beach has introduced a new event for 1999. The Daytona Beach Family Open is a family tournament open to twosomes consisting of one adult and one junior golfer: fathers and sons, fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, uncles and nieces, grandmothers and granddaughters, etc. The event is a two-day affair scheduled for Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12, 1999. The tournament will be played at Halifax Plantation Golf Club and Indigo Lakes Golf Club, both Golf Daytona Beach member courses. Each twosome will play 18-hole alternate shot on Friday and 18-hole scramble on Saturday.
