Resort Overview
On 1,800 acres near the Shenandoah Valley in the Sleepy Creek Mountains of West Virginia, The Woods Resort features two golf courses, Sleepy Creek Spa, swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, softball field and a horseshoe pit.
Accommodations range from six Meadow Cottages to 75 rooms between the Evergreen and Walden lodges, some with whirlpool tubs, others with vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans and fireplaces. The adjoining Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area contains more than 75 miles of hiking trails.
For golfers at The Woods Resort, there are vast differences between the two courses. The 6,608-yard Mountain View golf course meanders through the forests and onto Third Hill Mountain. Conversely, Stony Lick is a par 62, 3,600-yard course. The majority of the holes are par 3s, but there are four par 4s per side to stretch your legs a little, the longest 330 yards.
If you're hungry, you can choose from fine dining at the Walden Restaurant overlooking Walden Pond, to the casual Walnut Pub, or a quick meal at the Clubhouse Grille.
