Puntacana Resort & Club

Resort Overview

Want to go horseback riding on the beach at a secluded tropical getaway known largely for its championship golf courses? Check out Puntacana Resort and Club, a 15,000-acre paradise set in the natural Dominican habitat.

Situated 10 minutes by car from Punta Cana International Airport, you'd never know it at the resort.

Officials and visitors here like to think of this place as the Caribbean's premier resort and beach destination - and for good reason. Parts of it sit tucked inside a secluded enclave, bordered by luxurious beaches.

Elsewhere on the Puntacana property, you'll find eight world-class restaurants, spirited nightlife and recreational activities to meet nearly every desire.

The history of the resort dates to 1971, when Dominican business interests teamed with American Theodore Kheel to construct a world-class destination. Members of an elite residential community receive access to the resort, which worked with the Dominican Navy to sink a 220-foot cargo ship that serves recreational and environmental purposes.

And don't forget the golf at Puntacana. Three full-services layouts are available for play to resort guests, including the championship La Cana Course and Corales Course, both designed by P.B. Dye, and Tom Fazio's Hacienda Course.
