Resort Overview
If you're looking for a casually elegant resort enclave with pristine beaches, a first-class hotel, a championship P.B. Dye golf course and a wide range of recreational activities. Punta Cana Resort and Club in the place for you.At Punta Cana Resort and Club, you'll find a combination of natural beauty and privacy. Our 420 rooms, sited in oceanfront and tree-shaded villas, are surrounded by 105 acres of lush gardens.
Golf Overview
The La Cana Golf Course is the spectacular new seaside golf course designed by the talented P.B. Dye, of golf's illustrious Dye family. Fourteen holes feature breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea, and four play along the ocean itself. And in true Dye form, P.B. has crafted each hole to present its own unique challenge: sometimes infuriating, always memorable. Golf Magazine writes, "The grand par-five 18th, a gentle dogleg to the left, is clearly patterned after the famous 18th at Pebble Beach, only here the shoreline is sandier, the water bluer, and the journey from tee to green longer and more perilous."
Fairways are carpeted with Seashore Paspalum, a revolutionary hybrid grass that can actually be irrigated with seawater and recycled water, thereby protecting the resort's underground aquifer.
Our Golf and Beach Clubhouse overlooks the 18th green and the Caribbean Sea. Director of Golf Olivier Brizon runs the golf program from a fully equipped pro shop, while the gourmet El Coccoloba restaurant, The Grill, and Los Platanos 19th Hole Bar offer players a wide variety of dining. Beverage service is also provided at the swimming pool patio and at the beach.

La Cana Golf Course
Architect: P.B. DyeDescription:
In true Dye form, his Punta Cana Golf Club course is innovative,
challenging, beautiful, and fun. Four holes play directly along the Caribbean Sea. Rather than using railroad ties to shore up greens (a tactic father Pete is known to favor), P.B. employed sections of palm trees soaked in seawater to make them impervious to rot. The tee markers are painted coconuts. Instead of the ubiquitous Bermuda grass, he chose Seashore Paspalum, an unusual turfgrass that not only can be irrigated with straight seawater, but also requires half the normal amount of pesticides and fertilizers.
The Dye pot bunker is ever present, however. On hole seven, a dogleg left that plays directly into the tradewinds, P.B. added no fewer than 21 pot bunkers immediately before the small, elevated green. He jokingly refers to this horrifying area as "hecklebirnie", a type of golfer's purgatory, according to
Scottish lore.
