Sea Trail's 2000 wooded acres are just five minutes from the beautiful, unspoiled, barrier island oceanfront of Sunset Beach. Guests enjoy three distinctly different championship golf courses and a deluxe Swim & Fitness Center with indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpools, licensed massage therapist, and special children's activities in season.

Byrd Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort

Each hole of the Willard Byrd Course is memorable for both beauty and exacting play. Built around several man-made lakes, each ranging from 14-20 acres, every hole of this par-72 signature course requires a distinctly different approach to Byrd's undulating greens.
The course follows Byrd's imaginative style of design, incorporating several of his trademark decorative sand and waste bunkers. This combined with a constricting tree line and greenside bunkering system, make for a "heads-up" challenge.

Jones Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort

The Rees Jones Course, which opened in the spring of 1990, is a perennial favorite of both visitors and locals. Designer-approved renovations to the course in 1999 brought a more naturalized look with native grasses and wildflower plantings.
A straightforward course with typical Jones bounding along the fairways and around elevated greens, the course is noted for its wide fairways, large mounds, pot and large expanse bunkers that provide an extraordinary golf experience. Adding to the challenge is the use of water, which comes into play on 11 holes of this par-72 championship course.

Maples Course at Sea Trail Golf Resort

Golf Digest declared the Dan Maples Signature Course as one of the "Best New Resort Courses" in the nation in 1986. Twisted ancient oaks, tall Carolina pines and tifdwarf greens define each hole on the beautiful par-72 course, still regarded as one of Maples' finest.
Five holes wind along the scenic Calabash Creek, home to nesting pairs of osprey. A medium-length, accuracy-demanding course, the Maples is unique in its use of waste bunkers; with the waste bunker on #15 extending the full length of the fairway, making it a challenge for even the experienced golfer. Adding to the challenge is the use of attributes of the land and water in this natural setting, causing the golfer to ponder both the layout and the beauty of the course.

Dining
Our guests enjoy a hearty breakfast at Magnolias Fine Food & Spirits overlooking both the Jones and the Byrd 18th holes at the Jones/Byrd Clubhouse. Daily specials are available at lunch, along with a wide assortment of appetizers, delicious soups, hot and cold sandwiches and superb salads. Grab a quick treat from either the Maples or the Jones/Byrd Snack Bar on the turn or settle back with a refreshing drink in the Jones/Byrd Lounge after your golf game.
The Maples Snack Bar serves a variety of soups and sandwiches, along with your favorite hot and cold beverages. In season, our Oasis Pool Bar is the perfect place for a leisurely lunch by the pool or a sip from one of our delicious frozen specialties.
