Crowne Plaza Resort & Golf Club[13]

Resort Overview

The Crowne Plaza Resort & Golf Club in Lake Placid, N.Y., is situated next to the Olympic Center and the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Games. The property offers impressive views of Lake Placid's lakes as well as the Adirondack mountains. The Crowne Plaza has accommodations to fit nearly every need and taste. The options include regular rooms, two different choices of suites, family rooms, condos and The Chalets and Grandview Cottage for those seeking a little more seclusion. For meetings, the resort has 30,000 square feet of space. Crowne Plaza also specializes in weddings and receptions. Crowne Plaza has several dining options -- most of them capitalizing on the property's spectacular scenery. None of them more so than the Great Room Tavern, which has an excellent view of Mirror Lake and Whiteface Mountain. There are plenty of golfing options at the 45-hole Lake Placid Club. The Links course was designed in 1909 by Scottish architect Seymour Dunn, while the Mountain course was designed by Alexander H. Findlay in 1910 and remodeled by Alister MacKenzie in 1931. In the winter, guests can hit the slopes with skiing and snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain and bobsled rides at the Olympic bobsled track.
