Golf Courses
The Bear
Architect: Jack NicklausDescription:
Designed by golf great Jack Nicklaus, The Bear is our best-known course and described as one of the toughest in the Midwest. You'll quickly appreciate this beautiful par 72, links-style course featuring Scottish terraced fairways, tiered greens, deep grassy roughs, moguls, mounds, and deep pot bunkers. Lakes, ponds, hardwood forests, streams, and fruit orchards are home to a variety of wildlife that give The Bear its character: golf in the midst of wild nature.

Spruce Run
Architect: William NewcombDescription:
Designed by former University of Michigan golf coach William Newcomb, Spruce Run was aptly named to reflect the numerous fir and spruce trees that line its fairways and undulating greens. The course gracefully winds among the rolling hills overlooking East Grand Traverse Bay.
More forgiving than The Bear, Spruce Run will challenge you and offer hours of fun. It's the perfect course for a relaxing morning or afternoon outdoors, spotting wildlife along the way. Yet it's also a championship course, and was home to the Michigan Open before the completion of The Bear.
