Makena Beach & Golf Resort

Resort Overview

Situated on Maui's southwestern coast, Makena Beach & Golf Resort, formerly the Maui Prince Hotel, is amongst not only some of the best beaches in the world but also some of the finest dining and shopping Hawaii has to offer. The resort is nestled between a perfectly crescent-shaped beach and the dramatic cliffs of Mount Haleakala, a location that features an abundance of activities. Makena Beach offers snorkeling and scuba diving as well as outrigger canoe rides and kayak tours. Hiking trails that weave throughout the mountainous landscape provide outstanding scenery. For golf enthusiasts, Makena Beach & Golf Resort has an 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., a driving range, and multiple putting greens. There are also six tennis courts, a full-service spa, two swimming pools and hot tubs, and six different dining options. During whale season, which can begin as early as November and can last until the end of May, Makena Beach proudly hosts the Annual Maui Whale Festival. The event is a celebration of the return of over 10,000 Humpback whales to warm Hawaiian waters from the north.
