Resort Overview

Welcome to Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka'upulehu. Set on the exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast, this magical, tropical oasis captures the essence of Hawaii's golden age. It offers seclusion without isolation, complemented by an award-winning sports club and spa and a private Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.

Golf Overview

Like all the other splendid amenities of the Resort, the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus designed Hualalai Golf Course has been crafted with extreme sensitivity to the land. Winding over 7,100 yards, this carefully groomed course begins in a lush kipuka (oasis) and then flows across brilliant green fairways contoured against black lava. Finally, the course returns to the ocean, where the finishing holes capture the drama and the beauty of direct seaside golf. After an exhilarating game, relax in the clubhouse where tropical refreshments, ocean views and a club-away-from-home experience await you.

Dining

Four Seasons Hualalai Dining

Pahu i'a

Sweeping ocean views and brilliant island sunsets provide a magnificent backdrop to the oceanfront dining experience of Pahu i‘a, where the indoors are caressed by tradewinds, the waves illuminated by the stars and the gentle surf endlessly soothes.

While the restaurant’s centrepiece is a brilliant aquarium (Pahu i‘a in Hawaiian) its focal point is the vast cobalt blue ocean and rhythmic, rolling surf merely steps away. At your table, our chefs pay homage to Hawaii’s bounty and the surrounding Pacific Ocean. Combined with legendary Four Seasons hospitality and service, it is an inviting atmosphere of relaxed and casual elegance. Seats 125.

On the restaurant's second floor is The Makai Terrace, offering bird’s eye views of the coastline. Perfect for intimate dinners, it offers all the amenities of Pahu i‘a in a more secluded environment.

Naupaka Terrace, an extension of existing lanai seating, offers panoramic views of the ocean in an intimate setting. Naupaka kahakai is the name of a native Hawaiian shrub that grows naturally along Hawai‘i's beaches. Its white blossoms appear to be only half of a flower. Legend says that the flower is made whole by joining it with a "half flower" from the naupaka kuahiwi or mountain naupaka, which grows upland.

The Beach Tree Bar and Grill

Nestled oceanside is the delightful alfresco dining of The Beach Tree Bar & Grill. Featuring succulent cuts of beef, tender farm-raised game, fresh island seafood and the island's most spectacular salad bar, The Beach Tree offers exceptional grilled items in a relaxed setting.

The Lava Lounge at Pahu i'a

Located oceanside, The Lava Lounge at Pahu i`a offers front-row seats to the stunning sunsets of the Kona-Kohala Coast. Strolling guitarists perform nightly, sharing musical stylings which include soft rock, slack key and contemporary Hawaiian favorites. The lounge seats up to 34 guests. Join us for a light snack from our tempting pupu menu or indulge in one of our signature thirst-quenchers, such as the Lava Flow or the Sinking Sun.

The Beach Tree Bar

Wiggle your toes in the sand as you sip exotic, tropical drinks at The Beach Tree Bar, located a mere 20 steps from the ocean. The traditional mai tai and the Aloha Margarita will tempt your taste buds. The Lava Flow or the Sneaky Blue are also served to rave reviews. The Beach Tree Bar is the most picturesque sunset spot at the Resort and an unforgettable way to end the day.

Spa

The Hualalai Sports Club and Spa is uniquely Hawaiian, reflecting the aloha spirit of the islands' golden age. The lap pool, whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms and cold plunges are all set amidst the tropical gardens. Even exotic spa treatments or massage can be enjoyed in the open air, secluded behind bamboo screens.

Meetings

Recapture Hawaii's golden age in a magical meeting environment on the exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast. Indoor and outdoor settings, beachfront and golf club bungalows are all at one with the idyllic landscape.
