Resort Overview
Scheduled to open October 2004, the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate will be a dream destination for meeting and leisure guests alike. Located within the master-planned community of ChampionsGate, next to Walt Disney World, this resort is surrounded by world-class golf, acres of natural wetlands and the excitement of the dazzling sites and attractions of central Florida. With two Greg Norman designed courses, ChampionsGate has been honorably mentioned in Golf Magazine's "10 Most Distinctive Places to Play".
Golf Overview
The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate offers a world-class golf facility with 36 holes designed by International golf champion Greg Norman. Both the courses are in tournament-playing conditions year-round and offers first-class amenities including iced towel service and a digital GPS Caddy System. Honorably mentioned in Golf Magazine's "10 Most Distinctive Places to Play," the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate's two significantly different courses: The National, an impressive American-style course with lush fairways and great par threes; and The International, a daunting, authentic links-style course.
Golf Courses
The National Course at ChampionsGate Golf Resort
Architect: Greg NormanDescription:
The National, this traditional American-style golf course is carved out of 200 acres of citrus groves. It features an out-and-back design and offers lush, gentle undulating fairways, creative greens, trees and woods, and bunkers-strategic on the fairways and ample around the greens. Water comes into play on a half-dozen holes. Four sets of tees provide both formidable length (7,128 years, with tow par-5's on the back nine averaging 630 yards and four par-3's all greater than 200 yards) and accessible distance (51,50 yards from the forward tees).
The signature hole is the par three, 14th Hole. This par 3 combines exhilarating anticipation with head-scratching paralysis. The tee box overlooks a wetland jungle framed by dense trees to the right and tall pines on the left. The narrow chute through which you must launch a 210-yard iron is an adventure. The good news is the green-which you discover to be generous. Don't be long, a sweeping back-side bunker and woods will swallow an exuberant shot.

The International Course at ChampionsGate Golf Resort
Architect: Greg NormanDescription:
The course features hard, fast playing surfaces: dramatic mounds-dunes-of sand and grass, scruffy roughs; firm fairways with ample bump-an-run opportunities and slick greens. You will need tee-box accuracy, dexterous irons, and a practiced sand wedge.
The signature hole is the par four, 7th hole. This par-4 could be a legend before its even played. This 474-yard hole should be a par-6. From an elevated tee box, you look down into a grassy valley engulfed by sweeping and sand dunes. Water sits down the right side of the fairway. Power you tee shot long, avoid the sand and get a decent lie and you will have a 175-200 yard approach shot. And its not the length that's daunting; it's the designation. Stand on your toes to see the hidden lake that replaces the left side of the fairway. To the right sits a green the size of a prospector's pan, fronted by a narrow lay-up area that slants right to left, a pothole bunker at the right front of the green and a mountain range of sand in the back. It looks like an oasis!
