Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST

Architect:  Greg Norman
Description:
The Greg Norman course at PGA WEST® is the most recent addition to "The Western Home of Golf in America". Opening to rave reviews, this unique and beautiful layout is Norman's first desert design. With less than 70 total acres of turf, striking sugar sand bunkers, 9 water features and colorful indigenous landscaping, this course provides the ultimate in challenge and beauty.

Golf courses are made in the image of their creators, and Norman, a.k.a. "the Shark," is known for an aggressive style of play. On a Norman design, the risk-reward ratio is highly correlated, and those who spend strokes on safe shots may wind up feeling like shark chum. Yet, Norman insists the measure of great course is playability for a variety of levels.

The Greg Norman is a plain - a seabed 40-feet below sea level - that's surrounded by an immense crescent of terra-cotta mountains. The course teems with purple, white and yellow wildflowers. The mix of tall and short native grasses produce different shades of green running almost to silver, and the trees - mesquite, paloverde and acacia - are native to the low desert and visually arresting.

Our Executive Chef has created spa cuisine options to complement the existing menus at many of the restaurants at La Quinta Resort & Club. These items are prepared simply and elegantly, with flavors that speak for themselves. Calories and fat grams have been kept to a minimum without sacrificing texture or flavor. Try cold poached salmon with butter lettuce, fresh cucumber, dill and tomato salad at Morgans or achiote poached shrimp at the Adobe Grill.

Azur by LeBernardin

This new restaurant is the creation of Chef Eric Ripert and Restaurateur Maguy Le Coze, the renowed team of New York City's award-winning Le Bernardin. The menu includes the acclaimed seafood selections that have won this pair accolades from around the world while introducing some meat and fowl to please every palate.

Adobe Grill

Mariachi music and colorful surroundings set the mood for an experience in refined, authentic regional Mexican cuisine. Signature dishes include the Caldo de Mariscos, a southwestern bouillabaisse, Ceviche de Mariscos Marinera, and guacamole made tableside.

Morgans

This 1920s-style restaurant is decorated in brass, glass and polished wood. An open kitchen puts chefs on display as they serve innovative American cuisine. Open all day long, Morgans offers both casual indoor seating or peaceful patio seating next to the Plaza waterfall. A great way to start any day is Morgans' full breakfast buffet on the inviting, sun-soaked patio. The new steakhouse dinner menu features USDA Prime steaks as well as pastas and other chef’s selections.
