Resort Overview

The moment you turn off Coast Highway into Aliso Creek Inn, you are in for one delightful surprise after another. The tranquil, rustic resort tucked into the breathtakingly beautiful canyon. The flower-lined walkways, the 80 scenic acres encompassing Laguna's only golf course, all just 365 yards from the beach. Aliso Creek Inn is located in Laguna Beach, a quaint little seaside village with pristine white beaches and secluded coves.

All accommodations are spacious one or two bedroom townhouses or studios, complete with a full kitchen including a full-size refrigerator and stove, living room, cable television and private landscaped patio.

With over 80 acres of fun and activities, Aliso Creek Inn offers something for everyone. Visitors rave about our mature 9-hole, par 32 golf course that plays into the canyon. It is beautifully maintained and surprisingly challenging.

Between rounds, you can visit our pro shop, hit a bucket of balls or improve your swing with a lesson from a local pro. Of course, Aliso Creek is also just a chip shot away from popular Aliso State Beach. Here you can enjoy fishing, surfing, scuba diving and sunbathing. Or you can just relax by our large pool or unwind in our spa. There's even a wading pool for the little ones.

Golf Overview

Aliso Creek, a nine hole course that sits just off Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, offers one of the most dramatic views in Orange County as it winds around a creek and through a steep canyon with brush-covered walls. The golf course, which has been here about 40 years, is in a neat and peaceful canon where opera music can sometimes be heard drifting from some lavish homes high above the first green.

Golf Courses

Aliso Creek Golf Course

Description:
Aliso Creek starts with a 300-yard par four that encourages a lay-up shot with a middle iron off the tee because the creek runs just in front of the green. The creek is a major factor on the course because it could come into play on every hole depending on how poorly shots are hit.

None of the five par fours are longer than 310 yards but all have medium size greens.

The true challenge at Aliso Creek is on the par threes. The second hole plays 177 yards (regular tee) or 201 (championship tee) and the creek runs along the left side with the canyon protecting on the right.

The fourth hole, which is 177 or 195 yards is lined with trees and the creek looms on the left near the green. The sixth hole is the shortest - 120- or 102, but tee shots must clear the creek and hold a hard green. The most challenging shot of the day is the tee shot at the eighth hole, which is 207 or 185 yards. The wide creek runs right in front of the green, and offers many no opportunity but to lay-up since there is so little room to miss short, right or left.

The par threes would be a challenge for any of the tour players, but there is a good variety of holes.

Dining

Canyon Lodge American Grill is minutes away from the bustle of downtown and light years away in setting, ambiance and dining experience. Canyon Lodge American Grill offers traditional American cuisine "with a twist" served in an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere.

Located in the secluded Aliso Canyon just off Pacific Coast Highway, the restaurant's fare emphasizes grilled and roasted dishes accompanied by "fresh, natural and regional" ingredients. Canyon Lodge American Grill continues the Brown family's tradition of attentive service, superb food and a warm, inviting setting.

Canyon Lodge is custom-furnished in classic rustic "mountain lodge" décor complete with fireplaces, beamed ceilings and a vibrant color palate of reds, blues, browns and greens. The nationally known restaurant design firm, Hatch Design Group, created the restaurant's "national park lodge atmosphere with an upscale blend of American West and California Mission craftsmanship" says Jeff Hatch.

The restaurant is a "mountain get-away in the canyon by the beach" says owner Vi Brown. "We don't want glitz or gimmicks." Canyon Lodge is a comfortable relaxed kind of place, where you would gather with friends. Our menu doesn't have trendy dishes with fancy titles, but focuses on good familiar food prepared with a creative flair.

Canyon Lodge offers private dining rooms, banquet facilities and patio dining. The bar and lounge feature a "living room" atmosphere and a 20-foot long oak inlaid bar. Views overlook the chaparral-covered canyon walls and landscaped greens of the surrounding golf course.

The warm and inviting lounge at Canyon Lodge is the ideal place to compare scorecards over a burger and a brew, cheer on your favorite team on the multiple TV's or enjoy a cocktail with friends by the crackling fire.
