I managed to get the last slot in the Old Course ballot at 11:30 on November 30, St. Andrews Day. Played alongside 2 very agreeable Irish golfers, Brian & John. It was John's birthday and he had a great day, he started off with 5 fours. Most enjoyable experience, everyone in the St Andrews Links trust were very helpful. Slow round though, we teed off at 11:30 and walked off the 18th in near darkness at 15:40, but very enjoyable. will hopefully be back next year for more.

"It is a little far fetched that Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada only have a couple of Top 100 courses in the Golf Magazine list. I have played both We-Ko-Pa Golf Club courses in Scottsdale many times, and let me tell you, it compares with almost any of the Top 100 except the obvious few (Augusta National, Pine Valley, etc)."
