In response to Spencer Hux's blog, "Michigan school board cancels football season: 'No child left behind' again fails our parents and students," which highlighted the decision for the Oscoda Area High School football team to cancel its season after not scoring a point in losing its first four games of the season:
As a member of the Oscoda Board of Education and the only member to oppose the Administrations decision to cancel the varsity football season. I agree and applaud your stance on this issue. The football coach quoted the Nebraska University Strength and Conditioning standards, having only two students that met these standards, as the reason to cancel the season.

"It is a little far fetched that Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada only have a couple of Top 100 courses in the Golf Magazine list. I have played both We-Ko-Pa Golf Club courses in Scottsdale many times, and let me tell you, it compares with almost any of the Top 100 except the obvious few (Augusta National, Pine Valley, etc)."
