Tom Fazio's Fallen Oak Golf Club near Biloxi is the second golf course built by the MGM-Mirage company, the first being the ultra-high end Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.
Fallen Oak is another big-budget masterpiece that ceremoniously opened one year after Hurricane Katrina. Fazio moved plenty of old oak trees to frame holes, and the course features much more inspiring and rolling topography than the common lowcountry golf course, especially on the rolling back nine.
Few holes blend in with each other, and each player in the foursome is likely to have a different favorite, whether it's one of the short par 3s over water on the front nine or a dramatic par-5.
Fallen Oak is open primarily to Biloxi golf guests of the Beau Rivage Hotel & Casino, and guests are shuttled from the hotel to the golf club about 20 minutes away.
