Tartan East Golf Club near Columbus, Ohio has the look and feel of an upscale, private club. That's no accident. The golf course was in fact private until 2007 under the name "Winding Hollow Golf Club."

The members have since packed up and left the golf course to the public, and new ownership has restored it to a solid upscale addition to the greater Columbus area. The course was designed by Arthur Hills, an Ohio native, and features plenty of thickly tree-lined holes that make accuracy a premium. Five sets of tees play up to 6,870 yards, and just under 4,800 yards from the forwards.
