Sand Hollow Resort in Hurricane, Utah: A big golf course on an even bigger canvas

HURRICANE, Utah -- Designed by John Fought, Sand Hollow's Championship Course is a big, memorable golf course that's a feast for the eyes as well as a joy to play. With large, red-sand bunkers framing holes that lead up to elevated greens, each hole is unique and flanked by the backdrop of spectacular mountains that border nearby Zion Park.

The golf course, in fact, looks like it's in one of Utah's National Park's, especially Arches to the east, where the rock formations are nothing short of mesmerizing. Fortunately, Sand Hollow, which tips out to more than 7,300 yards, more than lives up to its environment. Simply put, there are no boring holes on this golf course -- not one. And with wide fairways and opportunities to run shots up to greens, it's playable by all levels of golfers.

There's more than the Championship Course, though. The nine-hole Links Course at Sand Hollow, nearly 3,700 yards long, is also available and a favorite for visitors. And the Wee Course, a terrific pitch and putt with outstanding greens, is the perfect warm-up or practice area for those looking to sharpen their short game.

Spacious practice facilities also complement the award-winning courses.
