The Old Course at San Roque Golf & Country Club in Spain
The Old Course at San Roque Golf & Country Club in the shadows of Valderrama Golf Club is considered one of Costa Del Sol's best rounds of golf.
Built in 1990 by architect Dave Thomas, San Roque's Old Course carries a classic, parkland feel on very rolling landscape that allows for some beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, as well as the Mediterranean Sea a few kilometers in the distance, especially from the 13th tee and 14th green. Seve Ballesteros also redesigned the Old Course's bunkers a few years back.
San Roque Golf & Country Club has since added a New Course, designed by Perry Dye. It is set on similarly spectacular, rolling landscape, but comes with signature Dye family traits like steep bunkering and railroad ties.
Both golf courses are championship in length and have hosted the Spanish Open in recent years. The club facilities are exceptional, including a beautiful clubhouse with multiple dining areas, locker room, driving range and putting and chipping greens.
