Osprey Point is one of five golf courses at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, known most notably for its Ocean Course, which has hosted the Ryder Cup Matches and a PGA Championship.
It's tough to call the Osprey Point course a "second fiddle." Designer Tom Fazio built a player-friendly course set on very scenic marsh and wetlands. It isn't right on the coastline, though it's close, but the wind isn't as much of a factor here as the Ocean Course and Turtle Point. There is an abundance of wildlife, from alligators, to turtles, to jumping fish. The course winds through a residential community, but is usually shielded from trees and well off the fairways.
Service, conditions and facilities at Osprey Point, which is operated out of its own clubhouse, are top-notch. It was even initially planned as a members-only club, but today resort guests enjoy the fruits of the good life here.
Osprey Point has five sets of tees, ranging from just under 7,000 yards to just over 5,000.
