Nairn Dunbar Golf Club in Scotland
Nestled up in the Scottish Highlands and right on the Moray Firth coastline, Nairn has long been thought of as a base for exploring this part of the country. With more than 30 golf courses within a 30-mile radius, Inverness nearby and Royal Dornoch about an hour to the north, in-the-know golfers have long valued Nairn for its location and hospitality.
Golfers know too the name of Nairn Dunbar Golf Club. If Nairn Dunbar were a bar (or a TV show), it would be "Cheers," where everybody knows your name. Okay, so maybe they don't know your name but the members and other local players here are mighty quick to welcome you into a foursome on the course and make room for you at the bar (and suggest just the right tonic to salve your soul if your round didn't go so well).
At 6,765 yards from the white tees, length will not be a tremendous issue on these links but at a slope rating of 139 you may just come off the 18th looking for a buddy to drink with.
And, if you want to work on your game, Nairn Dunbar also has one of the better practice facilities in the region.
