The PGA Tour's Memorial Tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus
Tiger Woods won his 67th PGA Tour title June 7 at the 2009 Memorial Tournament. It was his fourth time winning the tournament, hosted by golf legend Jack Nicklaus at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
After skipping the Byron Nelson Championship a few weeks ago, Woods came back full swing, scoring a 7-under 65 in the final round to finish 12 under for the event. After the first round, he was tied for ninth with eight other players, finishing with a 3-under 69. Luke Donald, who carded an 8-under 64, led.
The second round leaders, which included Jonathan Byrd, Jim Furyk and Mark Wilson, struggled as they entered the final day, helping Woods secure victory. Woods said he hadn't hit the ball consistently well in a whole tournament since winning the 2006 British Open. After managing three birdies and a bogey on the last four holes, Woods looks poised for a fourth U.S. Open win. The event begins June 18 at Bethpage State Park's Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.
