The LPGA's 2009 Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic

The Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic took place this past weekend at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio. Eunjung Yi of South Korea won with an 18-under 266. Yi, 21, hit an impressive 10-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to defeat Morgan Pressel. Yi started the final day with a four shot lead, which increased to six after she birdied two of the first three holes.

Michelle Wie, who needed to win this tournament to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open, tied for third at 16 under, joined by Seon Hwa Lee and Song-Hee Kim. Suzann Pettersen and No. 2 ranked Yani Tseng tied for fourth place with 15 under.

Yi's 61 after the third round, although impressive, did not beat Paula Creamer's course record 60 in the 2008 Classic. This year, Creamer pulled out of the competition moments before her morning tee time with a thumb injury.
