SIMI VALLEY, Calif. -- Calling it the "best land" he's ever had for a golf design, architect Pete Dye collaborated with tour player Fred Couples to create the 36 spectacular holes of Lost Canyons Golf Club in the Simi Valley just outside of Los Angeles.
Neither course has housing, just the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Susana Mountains, providing terrific views, plenty of elevation changes and outstanding conditioning.
The 7,285-yard Sky Course at Lost Canyons, which is laid out on the north side of Lost Canyons Drive, features a dramatic finish. The par-3 17th is set up against the ridge of a canyon, while the par-4 18th will require two great shots to tame.
Lost Canyons' Shadow Course, considered the easier of the two at just over 7,000 yards, is more of a links-style course with nine outward and nine inward holes. No matter which course you play, you'll enjoy the large grass driving range that features nine elevated greens and a short-game area with a practice green and three bunkers.
