Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio: Arguably one of Arthur Hills' best designs
NASHPORT, Ohio -- Built by the Longaberger Company, the Longaberger Golf Club is arguably one of architect Arthur Hills' best works.
It should come as no surprise based on the 250-acre campus he had to work with. The layout features plenty of elevation change, streams, lakes, strategic bunkering, interesting greens and impeccable conditions. This all-bentgrass course also has outstanding practice facilities, including a large grass range, practice greens and short-game area.
Built in 1999 as an added attraction to the families that came to visit the Longaberger Co. headquarters and factory that produces baskets and other home ware, nothing was held back on the golf course. In its first couple of years, tee times were sold out months in advance, and the course has since risen to the top 60 public courses in America on more than one major golf publication's list.
