Leopard's Chase golf course at Ocean Ridge Plantation near Myrtle Beach
Opened in spring 2007, Leopard's Chase Golf Links is the newest of the "Big Cats" at Ocean Ridge Plantation in Sunset Beach, just north of the South Carolina/North Carolina line. This Myrtle Beach-area golf course is the centerpiece of a new housing development, though at this writing most of the homes were not built yet.
Designed, like Ocean Ridge's other three tracks, by local golf architect Tim Cate - the course is still firm and growing in a little, but the design is very dramatic, with large bunkers, par 3s over ponds and more rolling hills than you'll find in most corners of the Myrtle Beach area. The 18th is a spectacular long par 4 with a two-tiered pond and waterfall complex short left of the green.
