Kohler golf: Pete Dye's River course at Blackwolf Run
One of two Pete Dye championship golf courses at Kohler, Wisconsin's original golf facility, Blackwolf Run, the River course offers offers a beautiful, serene setting for a stern golf test, even at a relatively short (for a modern course) 6,991 yards from the back tee.
You'll get two beautiful elevated tee shots here on Nos. 5 and 8. The short par-4 ninth will test your discipline - it's reachable, but you have to steer clear of the river. The par-3 13th, which also plays along the Cheyboygan, requires you to shoot around trees.
Blackwolf Run is located just down the street from The American Club, Kohler's AAA Five Diamond golf resort, and 20 minutes by car from the town's newer golf club, Whistling Straits.
