Hershey Country Club West Course is in a town built by a chocolate baron. Milton Hershey's influence still looms over this town, which is about one hour and 40 minutes from both Philadelphia and Baltimore. That includes a high school that looks more impressive than many universities. Still, Milton's best move may have been encouraging Hershey Country Club to build its first golf course (there's also the newer East Course these days) in his front lawn. Literally.
The fifth green at Hershey CC West is steps from the front door of Milton Hershey's old historic mansion. And that's just one of the inventive quirks on this 77-year-old course. Hershey CC West features fun, driveable par 4s, a great run of elevated tees on holes three through six, plenty of up and downs and some of the best views in all of Hershey.
In fact, you can see the actual famous Hershey chocolate factory from the course. Ordinary tourists are left taking a "simulated" tour of a fake factory at the theme-park-like Chocolate World. Hershey CC West is a 6,860-yard par-73 that you're not going to forget much from.
