Heritage Club near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. -- Located just south of Myrtle Beach, the Heritage Club has a Tara feel to it, from the massive pillared clubhouse to bunkers at depths that equal the height of the Spanish-moss covered live oaks nearby. It is set on an old rice plantation, so there is a lot of water on the golf course, much of it lily pad covered, giving the course a sense of wilderness.
Designed by Larry Young in 1986, the Heritage Club is a slice of the Old South, from the bricked back patio overlooking what once was a rice plantation to the many magnolias and live oaks.
