Goose Valley Golf Club is located on South Africa's Western Cape in the swanky beach town of Plettenberg Bay. While upscale offerings litter the cape, Goose Valley is a good bargain course with greens fees ranging from 170 to 250 rand ($30-$45).
Native son Gary Player designed the course and has a home on the property as well. Even with its subdivision setting, the course teems with natural beauty and wildlife, including guinea fowl and peacocks. The course doesn't play right on the water, but the bay is visible from most points. The signature 11th hole is a stunning par 3 that plays over dense fauna with the bay in the background.
Nearby activities include an elephant farm, the Bloukrans Bridge bungee jump and several public beaches.
