The Diplomat Country Club near Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

The Diplomat Country Club and Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa are two high-end vacation properties located on the Atlantic Coast between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami in South Florida.

The Country Club is a classic South Florida golf course design from 1957 that was revamped in 2000 by Florida favorite Joe Lee. It features many ponds, 76 bunkers and over 3,000 palm and coconut trees.

The signature hole comes fast: No. 2, which is a short par 4 with an island green. The finishing holes are all very dramatic as well. The par 5 features a tight tee shot, where the corner can be cut if you're willing to cut the corner over palms and a neighboring swimming pool. The 17th is a short par 3 guarded by water, and the 18th features plenty more risk-reward opportunities on the tee shot.
