What do Justin Timberlake, Clint Eastwood, Ron Jaworski, George Strait, Willie Nelson and Donald Trump have in common?
If you said money, you are probably right, but the answer we were looking for is golf. All of these men love the game so much that they own their own public courses.
Jaworski, the former Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback and current ESPN NFL analyst, has built a golf empire by buying four solid courses -- Blue Heron Pines Golf Club, Running Deer Golf Club, Valleybrook Country Club and RiverWinds Golf and Tennis Club.
Nelson and Strait, two country music legends, own courses near their homes in the Texas Hill Country. Nelson's Pedernales Golf Club (better known as "Cut-N-Putt" and/or "Willie's Place") is just a small nine-holer in Spicewood with a laid-back attitude toward the game. Strait and his business partner Tom Cusick have worked hard over the past year improving the Tapatio Springs Golf Resort & Conference Center and its 27-hole course, located in Boerne near San Antonio.
Another music man, Timberlake has spent millions transforming the Mirimichi golf course in Millington, Tenn., near his hometown of Memphis, into one of the "greenest" golf courses in the world.
Nobody does luxury golf better than Trump and Eastwood.
Eastwood, along with Arnold Palmer and former MLB commissioner Peter Ueberroth, bought Pebble Beach Resorts in 1999 and still own the iconic four-course playground on the Monterey Peninsula.
Trump's golf portfolio boasts several private courses, but the public offerings are just as strong, spreading from the West Coast, home to Trump National Golf Club on the Pacific Ocean near Los Angeles, to the East Coast, home of the four-course Doral Golf Resort & Spa and its TPC Blue Monster near Miami.
Visiting Trump International Golf Club in Puerto Rico, the host of the PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open, and Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland, would make great road trips.
