Reviews
Very nice course, tight on a few tee shots but fair. Allows you to use most of the clubs in your back. Seems to play a little bit longer than the yardage probably since most greens elevated and fairways were a bit spongy. Enjoyed the day and would definitely play again
Slow, slow, slow
Course in ok condition but mixed couples and just couples playing makes for a very long day. After over 2 1/2 hours on the front, we went to first tee.... no less than three groups on the tee plus... and its a par 5... if you like slow, this is the place for you.
2nd time this week
Pace of play a little slow. When we made the turn from 18 to 1(started on 9) the starter stopped us and told us he let a 3 some go out in front of us. He did say to ask them to let’s us play thru..
wasn’t real thrilled about the wait we had for the first couple of holes… we were a two some.
Staff friendly course in good shape cart people were around to serve your needs.
Great course for the value
Good course for a variety of handicaps. Several tee boxes to choose from. Placement was key on a few holes to offer every handicap a challenge. Course was in excellent shape.
Golf here: good track in great shape
Great greens, moderately fast, back nine is the challenge here; if you play front nine first; you can get rhythm and your swing tempo in sync and prepared for long par 4’s and finesse shots needed on back. Enjoyed the day here.
Good challenging course.
Very nice course. Played during a week of heavy rain and course held up nicely. My only complaint would be the cart path needs to be redone!
Small greens
Great shape for fall golf, greens rolled nicely, pace was slow first nine holes some kind of league play. 2 1/2 hours first nine 1 1/2 second nine. Started on the 10th hole @ 1230
Nice track
The course was in excellent condition, despite having received significant rain. It’s a nice design, but it plays longer than the scorecard Indicates. My only complaint is that the cart paths are awful, and require replacement immediately.
Great Option Near Myrtle Beach
Played this course with friends in mid-October and thought is was great! Friendly staff; even though they were busy, the pace of play was good; loved the layout of the course and while I don't remember the actual price, I remember thinking it was definitely worth the money! Will definitely play here again when staying in MB!!
Bermuda rough
Like so many low country golf courses, Burning Ridge has long Bermuda grass rough. And, like so many others, the rough between the tees and the starts of the fairways is allowed to grow far too long.
Especially for a senior golfer, though it applies to all golfers, losing a golf ball between the tee and the fairway for the simple reason the rough is too long defeats speed of play and enjoyment of the game. Not only can one often not find a ball when one saw exactly where it went, but a bad tee shot can result in two or three more as one struggles to hit a ball out of long Bermuda grass.
Having learned my lesson well, I do not return to golf courses where the penalty for a bad shot is two or three more bad shots instead of just loss of distances and maybe a mediocre lie.
Beautiful greens
Course was in great shape and the greens were excellent. Nice layout friendly for all golfers would play again!
