The PGA Tour returned to Torrey Pines South in La Jolla, Calif. last week for the first time since a thrilling U.S. Open last June.
This time, it was for the annual Buick Invitational, which Tiger Woods had won four years in a row and five of the last six (only John Daly in 2004 has broken the Tiger streak). But there would be a guaranteed new winner this year as Woods remains sidelined with a knee injury. San Diego native Phil Mickelson, who struggled at last year's U.S. Open on home turf, didn't make an impact again, finishing 42nd.
Camilo Villegas took a commanding early lead with a 63 on Thursday, but the field would eventually catch up to him, and on Sunday it came down to John Rollins and Nick Watney. Though Rollins led on the back nine, Watney rallied at the end, with birdies on two of the final three holes (including a 40-foot birdie putt on the 16th) to win by one shot.
It's Watney's second career win on the PGA Tour, winning last at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans in 2007.
Here's a look at the week's action at Torrey Pines South.
