The Crenshaw Cliffside course at Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas
The Crenshaw Cliffside golf course four championship courses at Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas. It was designed by the Austin native and legendary putter Ben Crenshaw, along with design partner Bill Coore, among the Texas Hill Country just west of town. While there are great views of the surrounding hills, it's the greens here that steal the show, as they are certainly going to demand a pure stroke to make much of anything.
The Crenshaw Cliffside course is short at under 6,700 yards from the championship tees, and golfers of any level are going to be able to navigate from tee to green. But most greens are massive, and, while not multi-tiered, they offer enough small slopes and hidden breaks to drive a player of any ability mad. It's also a golf course you can play along the ground in most spots, using the fairways and greens' natural contours, though No. 16 through 18 all require carries off the tee or into the green.
