NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Barefoot Resort & Golf is one of Myrtle Beach's most popular golfing destinations. Greg Norman, Pete Dye, Davis Love III and Tom Fazio each designed a course for the resort. The Dye Course is situated next to the pristine white sands of the Carolina Bays, providing a stark contrast to the lush native grasses that cover the course. The white sand is also striking against the blue of the Intracoastal Waterway.
The layout stretches to a monstrous 7,343 yards from the back tees. Dye incorporated the treacherous hazards that typically characterize his designs, including deep pot bunkers and sculpted grass mounding. He also included his signature railroad ties.
It is definitely a challenging course, but there are four sets of tees that make it more accessible. The Dye Course is the only semi-private facility at Barefoot Resort. It boasts its own clubhouse, restaurant, and pro shop. And just a short walk away is the main resort clubhouse and the lighted driving range.
