The Arthur Hills golf course at Palmetto Dunes - Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The Arthur Hills course is one of three championship courses at Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island, S.C. It's generally regarded as one of the toughest golf courses on Hilton Head, despite a championship yardage under 6,700 yards.

The two most difficult holes aren't all that long. The second hole is a short par-4 with a second shot that plays well over water to a guarded green.

The 17th has become the course's most famous: a dogleg left with an undulating fairway that requires an often sloping lie over water to a shallow green. Tiger Woods yielded 8 shots to the 17th during his college years here.
