Ocean Links course at Amelia Island Plantation in Florida
AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. - Sure, there are plenty of beach vistas and postcard moments at Ocean Links golf course at Amelia Island Plantation, one of four courses at this northeast Florida resort.
So bring your camera and an appreciation for the beauty of nature. But also bring a golf game with strong iron play and accuracy.
You better not color too far outside the lines at this collaboration between Pete Dye and Bobby Weed. They designed Ocean Links to be playable for the resort guest, but what the layout might lack in muscle, it makes up for with a demand for accurate tee balls and tight approach shots to tiny greens.
Factor in the tricky, prevailing ocean breezes, and Ocean Links holds its own with neighboring Oak Marsh, Long Point and Amelia River Golf Club. Ocean Links is truly a seaside links course and a worthy golf adventure.
