LONGS, S.C. -- Aberdeen Country Club tries to invoke a Scottish theme in the heart of North Myrtle Beach. It certainly got the name down -- triggered by the Scotland's legendary Royal Aberdeen. Royal Aberdeen is the sixth oldest course in all of Scotland. Aberdeen C.C. is one of the newer golf courses in Myrtle Beach.
Why quibble though? Course architect Tom Jackson creates a 27-hole course with plenty of unusual features for the Grand Strand and enough water for the wet stuff to apply for its own statehood. The Woodlands nine is particularly aqua packed. There are also Highlands and Meadows nines with Meadows being the most tree centered.
